In this lecture, Hadewych talks about the origins of the Norwegian knitting technique and the traditional aspects. On the basis of a Powerpoint presentation, various regional knitted works pass by. The current developments and the appearance of the innumerable books on knitting history (Annemor Sundbo) and modern knitted swords (Sidsel Jane Hoivik, Kristin Wiola Odegard and Kari Hestnes and others) are discussed as well as the role of Facebook and other media in this.
She will also highlight her own career and developments in it. Participation in the Nordisk strikesymposium and the Shetland Woolweek, as a teacher and participant, have left their mark in her knitting work. The latter can also be seen in the mini exhibition of her work at the fair.
