Hadewych van der Werf

Nordic Knitting

After the NS school (needlecraft and fabric decorating) Hadewych left for Norway in 1977 for lack of education. She followed a creative and artistic program at Akademiet i Rauland in Telemark. There she came into contact with the Norwegian way to knit in motifs using the circular needle and all related technical solutions.

After returning home she worked for years in various types of education. In addition, she has been teaching her knowledge for 40 years in workshops and courses in the specific Norwegian and other knitting techniques. She does this in the Netherlands, but also during the Nordisk Strikkesymposium in Norway and on the Faroe Islands.
During the Shetland Wool Week in 2016 and 2017, she organized a number of workshops and will do so again in the upcoming Woolweek at the end of September.
In addition to teaching, several articles were published by her hand in the Handwerken zonder Grenzen, these articles were always related to the Norwegian knitting technique.

You can find her on Facebook.
