Improve your Fair Isle knitting and learn to steek in one Masterclass!
Steeking is a very old technique which involves cutting your knitting, often used in the Scottish Islands to make cardigans.
It may seem scary but in this workshop Juliet will show you how to prepare your work securely, before cutting, and the different edges you can create to finish your project..
The first part of this class will be improving your Fair Isle knitting. After that, Juliet will teach you the steeking part.
Some people are put off Fair Isle knitting because they think it is difficult and may have problems achieving an even tension.
In this workshop Juliet will show you how to knit two-handed Fair Isle, with one yarn on each hand. Using this technique is a great way to improve your Fair Isle. You will be so pleased with the results you will only want to knit colourwork.
The pattern for the workshop is a mug cosy.
Participants should be able to knit in the round and have tried Fair Isle knitting.
Here you can read who Juliet Bernard is.
The Fair Isle plus Steeking Masterclass will only take place on Friday 19 October.
