Master Knitter
My name is Carla Meijsen and my passion is knitting. Since I learned to knit when I was seven years old, the technique of knitting has inspired me and inspired me. What started out as a hobby, grew into hobby and work. Since then it has only become more fun and more interesting and plays more and more a central role in my life. No day without knitting …
I am the owner of the company The Dutch Knitters founded in janury of 2009. Under the flag of The Dutch Knitters I give workshops at home and abroad. The course Het Betere Breiwerk, a serious eight-course course for advanced knitters, is organized in Amsterdam and / or Utrecht at least twice a year. In 2014, the follow-up course starts with the Higher Knitting. At stock exchanges and knitting events, The Dutch Knitters organizes brew-related activities, such as a cozy Dutch Knitting Café.
On Thursday I work at the Dutch wool shop ‘Afstap’ in Amsterdam.
I have been trained as a teacher in Textile Work. In 2008, I successfully completed Level I and Level II certification to Master Knitter from The Knitting Guild of America and now work on the final part of certification to Master Knitter, Level III.
