Alina Popovici – Knit your palette – Balance, harmony and contrast for colorwork knitting

‘Knit your palette’ – Balance, harmony and contrast for colorwork knitting.

A color combination can elevate the simplest outfit to an artful piece or ruin long hours of skillful work. Putting colors together is a lifelong learning experience, a matter of personal taste and an emotional response to the natural and cultural environment.

Alina is proposing a 100% hands-on experience that will open the inner doors of your color sensibility. You will become aware of basic principles on how to choose and combine colorful yarns for different knitting techniques (stripes, color block log cabin or intarsia, stranded, slip stitches…) to achieve balance and harmony for a wearable, flattering and interesting garment, perfectly integrated in your wardrobe and lifestyle.

This is NOT a specific knitting technique workshop, although different colorwork techniques will be discussed. All levels are welcome, from curious makers to more experienced designers who want to broaden their horizon on this topic.

Alina makes one of a kind hand knitted pieces inspired by paintings and designs patterns that focus on colors and textures. Her favorite techniques are color block intarsia and stripes, sometimes with beads and different fibers combinations for a graphic, asymmetrical, abstract look.
