Susanne Visch – Knit a top-down crescent shawl with La Visch

Crescent or sickle-shaped scarves are very popular and rightly so: because of their special shape they stay better draped over the shoulders than traditional triangular scarves. In this workshop you will learn how to knit “garter tab cast-on” using the Art-Deco scarf pattern, which seamlessly merges into the main part of your shawl. You will also get to know the details of a crescent-shaped shawl, how to make a scarf in this form and how you can prevent “hump” that you often see with scarves in this form.

At the end of the workshop you have made a start with your scarf and you know everything about the construction and knitting of top-down sickle-shaped scarves.

Techniques that will be discussed:
Variant on the “garter-tab cast-on”, details about the knitting of top-down sickle-shaped scarves
